proMGE provides MGE annotations for user provided (meta)genomes. For (meta)genomes that belong to species represented in proGenomes3, it provides a nucleotide fasta sequence (mge_islands.ffn.gz) of the identified MGEs and annotation of genes within the MGE regions in gff3 format (mge_islands.gff3). For unbinned MAGs as well as genomes of species not represented in proGenomes3 it provides an annotation of MGE recombinase marker genes.
This annotation service is powered by the CloWM platform, hosted on infrastructure provided by the German Network for Bioinformatics.
